NVIDIA have finally announced that the long awaited release of their ‘3D Stereo’ glasses (Nvidia’s 3D vision 3D Glasses for use with 120Hz ‘3D Ready’ displays) will be delayed until some time early next year [hardly surprising given how late in December it is -ed].
The Nvidia 3D vision / stereo 3D glasses are designed to work with new 120Hz ‘3D Ready’ 3D screens that are available from 3D electronics manufacturers (including Samsung and Mitsubishi).
As you may know.. when it comes to 3D vision, a 60Hz (per eye) refresh rate (120Hz combined) is necessary to see in 3D comfortably. An Nvidia insider claims that nvidia believes that the 120Hz 3D Display market is not yet saturated enough to warrant releasing the new 3D glasses. [if this is true, I think it is a bad decision given the fact that any delay gives the competition more time to develop a better product. -Ed]
